The Gold Museum is transitioning to two centres of deep learning and research that include the nationally significant Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades and Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. The Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections will build on Sovereign Hill’s rich collections and provide visitors with greater accessibility to the culturally significant collection. The Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections will be built in close proximity to the Rare Trades Centre providing an opportunity to connect contemporary practice with the richness of the entire museum collection. We're looking forward to re-opening to visitors in mid-2022.
For all collections and research queries please email firstname.lastname@example.org and a member of the Collections and Curatorial team will be in touch as soon as practical.
Our new Centre will enable enhanced public access to our diverse and culturally significance collections. The Centre will be a state of the art collections facility, expanding upon the existing collection storage facility at the transformed Gold Museum, and maintaining best practice security and environmental standards.
