Gold Museum

The Gold Museum extends Sovereign Hill’s story of Ballarat’s gold rushes. Explore the rich diversity of Ballarat’s heritage before, during and immediately after the world’s richest gold rush. Learn about the people, places and events which have shaped Ballarat.

The Gold Museum will remain closed until further notice while adjustments are made to the way the Sovereign Hill Museum operates.

The Gold Museum has two permanent exhibition spaces that showcase the people, places and events which have shaped Ballarat and the Victorian Goldfields. These exhibitions are complemented by a rotating program of temporary exhibitions, special events, public programs, and school holiday activities.
