Magic, mischief and music are taking centre stage at Sovereign Hill this summer.
Create your own magical memories with a spell-binding Wizard Jacobs live show, picnic hamper lunches, summer games, hands-on craft sessions, roving performers, tours to spark your curiosity and wonder, and the usual fan favourites – gold panning, coach rides, mine tours, and more. Escape into the magic of Sovereign Hill this summer.
Wizard Jacobs Magic Show
Wizard Jacobs and their trusted side-kick the Goblin Sprightly return with a magic show filled with mischievous charm and a cast of colourful characters delivering plenty of belly laughs, whimsical antics, and spells.
Time: 11.45am, 2.15pm, 3.30pm – Times may change. Please check the blackboard in the Victoria Theatre foyer for times.

Crafty spells
Unleash your inner wizard this summer in our magic-themed craft sessions. Make a rabbit pop out of a top hat and trick friends with your own paper illusions.

Special effects from the Victorian era
Technology was different in the Victorian era and they had to get creative to make special effects. Step into the limelight in the Victoria Theatre on this interactive tour and find out how to put on a show using our props.

Back to school
In the 1850s, slates and chalk were the tablets of the day. This is the ultimate old school where education was basic but vital for the children of the goldfields. Pen and inkwells told their stories, and you couldn’t sit on the multiplication tables.

Picnic hampers
Chill by the lake with a pre-ordered picnic hamper featuring savoury treats, refreshing drinks, and delicious desserts specially crafted by the renowned Peter Rowland Group.
Make sure to pre-order your picnic hamper online when you book your Sovereign Hill ticket (at least 24 hours before your visit).
Time: Picnics hampers are available for collection from 12pm onwards.
Where: Collect pre-ordered hampers at the United States Hotel on presentation of your picnic hamper ticket.
Summer games
Unwind and challenge your friends and family to a round of lawn games, from giant Jenga and chess, to noughts and crosses. Kids will love exploring the adventure playspace featuring replica versions of our Clydesdale horses, a giant ship, slide, and other surprises to keep active minds and bodies busy.

AURA sound and light show
Feel the vibrations as stars explode in front of your eyes, watch as the land is transformed by the gold rush, and dive into the chaos of the Eureka Rebellion.
Time: 9.15pm every night
