-54- David Jones Criterion Store Mr David Jones established his 'Criterion House' in 1853 in Ballarat. Not long after this he went into partnership with a Mr Hemmingway, calling the premises the 'Criterion Store'. The Criterion Store sells a wide range of clothing and accessories. Delicate original lithographs demonstrate to all the ladies of the Colony, the newest fashions.
